Your privacy choices

Start here — most of it is already in your hands

This is a small practice, not a data business. Three things are worth knowing before you write to anyone:

Measurement is off unless you turned it on. Change it any time with in the footer.
This website has no account and no database. It stores nothing about you on any server. There is no profile here to see, correct or delete.
Your booking details live with Cal.com, the scheduling service, and in Gurukkal's own phone and email — the same as if you had rung him.

What you can ask for

Know what is held about you	Gurukkal checks the Cal.com booking record and his own correspondence, and tells you what is there.
Correct something	Tell us what is wrong; the booking record and any notes are corrected.
Delete your information	The Cal.com booking record and the related correspondence are deleted, apart from anything that must be kept for tax or accounting.
Get a copy	Sent to you by email in a readable form.
Stop the WhatsApp Panchāṅgam messages	Reply STOP to any of them, or say so however you like. It is acted on the same day.
Withdraw consent for measurement	Use the footer control. It takes effect at once.
Opt out of any sale or sharing of your information	Nothing about you is sold, rented or traded, and nothing is shared for advertising. There is no opt-out to make, because there is nothing to opt out of.

How to make a request

Email gurukkalkumar@gmail.com with "Privacy request" in the subject, or call (240) 602-7327. Tell us what you would like and the email address or phone number you used when booking, so the right record can be found.

How we check it is you

We match what you tell us against the booking record — usually the email address or phone number used at the time. If that is not enough to be sure, we will ask one more question about the booking rather than ask for identity documents. If we still cannot be confident, we will say so and take no action, because handing someone else's details to the wrong person is the worse mistake.

How long it takes

We aim to acknowledge within 5 working days and to complete within 30 days. If something is genuinely complicated we will tell you why and how long it will take. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied

Reply and say so — it goes straight to Gurukkal. Depending on where you live you may also be able to complain to a data protection authority; if you ask, we will tell you which one we believe applies to you.

Who this website is for

SaivaPriest.com is directed to families in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. It is not aimed at, marketed to, or intended for people in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada or India, and Gurukkal does not perform ceremonies in those places. Anyone anywhere is welcome to read the festival calendar and the guides.

Children

This website is for adults arranging ceremonies. It is not directed at children, has no accounts, and does not knowingly collect anything from a child. Ceremonies are often for a child — a naming, a first feeding, an upanayanam — but please give a child's details to Gurukkal directly when you speak, rather than typing them into the website.
